“make them use it” is not a valid EMR adoption strategy

"Of course we are all aware that a traditional EMR rollout is a huge financial commitment (thus raising the financial risk considerably, in addition to the operational risk of upending the healthcare organisation for a minimum of two years while the project is implemented). Sláinte Healthcare was awarded 7th place in the ‘Deloitte Fast 50 Awards’ on Friday 16th of November at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. In order to qualify to be listed to the Deloitte Fast 50, entrants must have the following criteria which Sláinte Healthcare meets:

  • Operating for a minimum of 5 years and have a turnover of at least €50,000 for 2007 or £34,000.
  • Entrants can be public or private companies but the parent company must be head quartered in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.
  • Each company must be a technology company, defined as producing technology; manufacturing technology related products; being technologically intensive or using technology in problem solving; or devoting a high percentage of research and development to technology.

“We are delighted to accept this award and ranking and I believe it marks the first of many years in the top ten of the Deloitte Fast 50 rankings. Sláinte Healthcare has doubled in size each year since its foundation in 2006, expanding across a number of international markets and is continuing to grow at such an accelerated pace. Our product development team has created products that not only save Hospitals money by becoming electronic but also help solve complex problems which increases efficiency and drives out errors within a Hospital. All data has a complete audit trail so no patient information is ever lost which is one of the huge advantages of moving to electronic processes rather than using the old manual paper process. It’s been another great year for Sláinte Healthcare,” commented Andrew Murphy CEO.
