THE ROLE

The role is with reference to activities in the full product lifecycle - Client engagement, requirements gathering, specifications, development, verification, validation, delivery, support and circling back to client engagement.

Job description- Main responsibilities

  • Document and maintain customer/product requirements.
  • Develop and review technical specifications.
  • Maintain the product business rules.
  • Verify builds/releases relative to the rules and specifications.
  • Validate product release relative to documented requirements.
  • Provide technical support/training/documentation of product releases to other Slainte resources and customers.
  • Assist in categorising requirements into the product development roadmap.
  • Assist with the analysis of requirements/roadmap for impact to the product architecture.
  • Assist with product implementations and ongoing support.
  • Assist in the specification and development of pilot projects
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a product demonstration suite.
  • Assist in the development of customer specific demonstrations and proof-of-concepts.

Depending on the calibre of the candidate, responsibilities can extend to include:

  • Developing the business requirements for existing applications and integration, systems design and architecture for clients
  • Data modelling and design
  • Project management
  • Delivering performance or functional improvements
  • Designing/developing/integrating new business applications
  • Developing software components/services and systems
  • Developing and creating advanced integration solutions
  • Technical sales and marketing opportunities from time to time 

Person Specification- Essential

  • Min of 2 -3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proven track record and experience working with a technology company, ideally with early stage technology.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, both in a team or alone, juggling several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communications skills are required, particularly with clients; as the candidate can expected to interact with IT professionals, healthcare administrators, clinicians, etc.
  • Strong motivation and determination to see client projects through to closure, within managed and agreed timelines.
  • Strong technical acumen, design/modelling, scripting languages (e.g. Javascript), Internet protocols/servers (web services, IIS, etc), database concepts and Internet applications
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, able to take requirements through to completion and problems through to resolution
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both in a team or alone, juggling several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel within Ireland and abroad to client sites, so valid passport and full driving license is a pre-requisite.
  • Positive can-do attitude is a must.
  • Soft skills competencies

Customer focus - Excellent communication and client-facing skills, Ability to operate in a fast paced environment and to deal comfortably with all levels both within Sláinte and on the client site;
Innovation: Proven track record of ability to prioritise tasks ,drive process improvements and meeting and exceeding targets;

Desirable

  • A Bachelor’s degree in information technology related field or similar qualifications.
  • Experience in a range of healthcare related technology roles.
  • Experience with HTML, Javascript, SQL and at least one major programming language (preferably C#/Java)
  • A knowledge of the Lua scripting language is advantageous
  • Knowledge of HL7 or any related healthcare IT standards is advantageous
  • Any knowledge of the Iguana integration engine (www.interfaceware.com) would be advantageous
