Sláinte Healthcare makes Senior Appointments

Sláinte Healthcare, the leading international healthcare technology company, has announced two new senior appointments. Mr Jeffrey Smoot has been appointed as Global Vice President, Sales & Marketing and Oonagh O’Driscoll as Global Human Resources Director.

Commenting on the appointments, Chief Executive of Sláinte Healthcare, Andrew Murphy said: “Both Jeffrey and Oonagh have been appointed to Sláinte Healthcare’s team due to their extensive expertise and skills working within global frameworks. We are delighted to welcome both Jeffrey and Oonagh to our team and look forward to working with them as we continue to grow our company in the months ahead.”

Mr Smoot is based in Sláinte Healthcare’s Australian office where he has responsibility for the sales and marketing strategy throughout Europe, the Middle East, Australia and the UK.

Prior to Mr Smoot’s appointment with Sláinte Healthcare, he worked in global healthcare technology companies, including Cerner Corporation as Managing Director Asia Pacific, Allscripts as Vice President Australia and New Zealand and Fujitsu Technology as Director of Health Care Solutions. In these roles Jeff successfully developed and implemented sales strategies that established these organisations and products in their defined regions. Mr Smoot’s expertise lies in, healthcare information technology, informatics and enterprise software.

Mr Smoot was awarded a BSBA by the University of Denver and an MBA from the Loyola College in Maryland in the US.

In addition, Sláinte Healthcare has appointed Oonagh O’Driscoll as its new Global HR Director. Ms O’Driscoll will become Sláinte’s first CPO (Chief People Officer) and will be based in Sláinte Healthcare’s head office in Sandyford in Dublin.

Ms O’Driscoll is an experienced HR Director with extensive strategy and leadership experience. Before joining Sláinte she worked primarily in the financial services sector and consulted in the Software, Manufacturing and Professional services sectors. Prior to her appointment with Sláinte Healthcare, Ms O’Driscoll worked as HR Director in Canada Life for more than 17 years.

Ms O’Driscoll is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and is currently studying for an MSc, with the imminent completion of an Executive Diploma from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Strategy, Innovation & Change. Ms O’Driscoll holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from the University of Limerick.

Ms O’Driscoll was appointed by Sláinte Healthcare due to her strong commercial awareness, her ability to influence and motivate colleagues and provide HR leadership at this important stage of their growth.

The new appointments come as part of the recently announced plan to create 80 new jobs within the company throughout 2014. The jobs are being created in software engineering, testing, business analysis, client administration, finance and marketing.
