Andrew Murphy, CEO Sláinte Healthcare recently wrote an article for Microsoft Health which was published on their blog. The article 'Using Technology to Disrupt Healthcare' is based upon the idea that for the most part the implementation of an EMR is executive led rather than clinician led. That is not to say clinicians shouldn't be consulted with on how an EMR should look feel and work as Sláinte Healthcare's EMR product Vitro is the clinician centric EMR.
