Technical Solutions & Services Engineer: Ireland

THE ROLE:

The individual will be part of a team who design, develop, deploy, maintain and support applications running on client facilities. Particular focus is on client roll-out, troubleshooting, training and repairing customer issues. Tasks are project driven, so there are new challenges, experiences and learning with each client. The role necessitates a strong hand in server knowledge, SQL databases and interconnected architectures. With client exposure, the role is also open to contribute to the product development cycle. The candidate will work with our Irish and off-shore development teams, extending existing products and supporting existing clients within our global sites.

Primary role will involve:

  • Documenting server and application configurations and specifications
  • Installing and configuring Sláinte applications for clients
  • Installing and configuring Integration Engines for clients
  • On-going Technical product support
  • Assisting the testing team for pre-acceptance testing of products under development from a user’s point of view
  • Managing customer training and product acceptance
  • Other duties as may arise from time to time

Responsibilities extend to include:

  • Identifying performance or UI improvements
  • Managing customer deployments and installations
  • Project management
  • Managing customer training and product acceptance
  • On-going client support
  • Developing software components and systems
  • Attending conferences abroad

The individual will gain real-life exposure to the workings of a growing technology company and an insight into change management, remote working, and end-users perspectives. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to experience technologies such as Microsoft.Net and various other Web Development languages. Applicants should have a strong grasp of good coding standards with strong knowledge of SQL in addition to scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript etc.

THE PERSON:

  • Positive attitude is a must.
  • Experience of a technology company, ideally with early stage technology.
  • Ability to travel within Ireland and abroad to client sites if necessary, so valid passport and full driving license is a pre-requisite.
  • Strong technical acumen in relation to SQL databases, Internet protocols, Windows application servers 2008 and 2012, their deployment, configuration, monitoring and maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, able to take requirements through to completion and problems through to resolution.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, both in a team or alone, juggling several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communications skills are required, particularly with clients; as the candidate is expected to interact with IT professionals, healthcare administrators, clinicians, etc.
  • Strong motivation and determination to see product, project and client projects through to closure, within managed and agreed timelines.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in an information technology/engineering/computer science related field.
  • Experience with any of T-SQL or scripting language.
  • Skills with or working knowledge of IIS, Web Services is desirable
  • Knowledge of HL7 and any related healthcare IT is advantageous.
  • Ideally 1+ years’ experience in a similar or related role in the healthcare sector or technology field.
  • Recent graduates with good technical acumen will also be considered.
