Sláinte Healthcare is fully supportive of of the launch of ehealthireland.ie and plans for a connected integrated information technology strategy for Ireland’s health service. It is felt that these could be the first steps towards ridding the Irish healthcare system of the reputation of being one that is lagging behind and one that generally relies on paper medical records rather than EMR's.

Berne Gibbons was recently appointed the role of chair-person of the eHealth Special Interest Group which is part of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA). The group focuses on how eHealth companies can work in tandem with the Australian Government to create a true technology partnership. The group was set up in 2010 and it aims is to influence the development of eHealth services and policy.
